Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, and will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and scourge and crucify Him, and on the third day He will be raised up

– Matthew 20:18-19

If you know anything of Christian history, then you know there has been a debate raging for a couple thousand years about “who was responsible for crucifying Jesus?” Let us look to this verse and settle the matter once and for all thus bringing peace and harmony to many biblical scholars.

Okay... Let’s get started...

“Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death” DUH... the Jews are responsible....settled matter....

“And will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and scourge and crucify Him” DUH...we Gentiles are responsible...settled matter....

So, it is perfectly clear that all sinful humankind, Jew and Gentile, are responsible for crucifying Jesus...DUH

“And on the third day He will be raised up”...oh my! God Himself is responsible...GLORY!!

You all know that we sinful humans sure have an overly inflated sense of self-worth and self-importance. Is it any wonder God had to intervene?
